A family-run home since 1987
Westcliff Lodge has been caring for people in Westcliff-on-Sea for nearly forty years. The home was opened by our family in 1987, and Dr Jennifer Smith has led it since 1991. Few care homes have been looked after by one family for so long, and we are proud of that continuity.
A home for adults from 55 years of age
Westcliff Lodge is a 22-bed residential home. Alongside care for older people and people living with dementia, we have long experience of supporting adults with longer-term mental health needs, and autistic adults. These are people who can find it hard to find a care home that truly understands them.
A stable, experienced team
Several of our staff have been with us for more than ten years, and our chef has been cooking for Residents for over twenty. That matters. Residents are cared for by people who know their histories, routines and preferences, and families who visit are greeted by familiar faces.

Home-cooked meals are a central part to our services at Westcliff Lodge. They are prepared on site by our Chef, and adapted for dietary, cultural and personal needs.

"Although dad's stay was short the care he recieved was exemplary. All the team including managers were very attentive and reactive to his needs. As family members we were always and still are treated with respect and made to feel very welcome. If we visited at meal times we were offered meals, which were all freshly prepared and very enjoyable. We were welcomed in all areas which were clean & tidy - well presented. Nothing was too much trouble. Would not hesitate in recommending Westcliff Lodge."

"It's just been over 1 year that the care home have been looking after a friend. After the stresses of losing a leg and suffering with short term memory, the home has always put his need 1st which was welcoming. My friend has recovered very well too well. As well as my friends needs have always made me welcome and provided a meal even when I have visited during meal time. A well placed team that will look after you're friends or relatives I'm sure."
